Out & about: London Classic Car Show 2018

Close to 40,000 people visited the Capital’s premier classic car celebration, the  London Classic Car Show, on February 15-18.

This year’s enlarged showcase built significantly on the successes of the three previous shows, attracting nearly 700 of the world’s finest classic cars as well as unprecedented attendances on all four memorable days.

CMC’s display was very well received by the public with the 1954 XK120 SE by Pininfarina sharing centre stage with a mid-restoration 1958 Aston Martin DB MK III.

The XK needed no introduction. It took our specialists 6,725 hours to restore this one-off Pininfarina bodied model which went on to become an award-winner at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance 2017 as well as the receiver of the 2017 Restoration of the Year Award.

The Aston spent 35 years of its life in storage and now our team is bringing it back to its former glory. It is a work-in-progress that shows the quality of work that goes on behind the scenes at CMC's workshop.

Show visitors also got some live action as CMC’s Director of Production Tim Griffin was on hand providing demonstrations of the art of English Wheeling panels, an essential skill in the car restoration trade.
