Cancelled Veloce Track Day still hopes to raise £100,000 for charity

For the past few years the Chairman of Classic Motor Cars (CMC) Peter Neumark, has run a charity track day that has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity. This year he and his team have had to rethink the event due to the pandemic.

The annual track day at Goodwood is masterminded by Peter and Chris Bucknall from V Management, with a star-studded cast of drivers like World Champion Damon Hill, Le mans legend  Derek Bell and Jamie Chadwick who take people on hot laps of the circuit.

This  year that was not going to be possible, so Peter and Chris  have split the event into two sperate fund raising activities which they hope will still enable them to raise £100,000 for “Hope For Tomorrow” and “ The Halow Project.”

Instead of the 70-person track day in which each participant would receive  three lap sessions in a range of cars, they have come up with a unique photo-shoot and an on-line auction.

On September 23rd at Salon Privé which is being held at Blenheim Palace, guests will be able to have professional photos taken of themselves and their car with two of the event’s star drivers, F1 word champion   Damon Hill, and Le Mans star , Richard Attwood.

The cost is £285 for a framed and signed photo, with 100% of the proceeds going to the two charities. This does not include entry to Salon Privé There will of course be a display of Veloce cars including jaguars.

The second fund raising event will be an on-line auction where Veloce will be offering 12 spectacular lots on “collecting”

The first lots will be available to view from today Friday August 28th  and the first lot will go live on Tuesday September 1st,  the second will be live  on Wednesday September 2nd and so on. Each lot will be live for a week.

The lots include, paddock passes for the 2021 Silverstone Grand Prix including  lunch with Ross Brawn, seven nights in a six bedroomed villa to coincide with the  Grand Prix de Monaco Historique  including four grandstand tickets in Casino Square. One  of Damon Hills race suits, and a long Weekend in a villa overlooking Lake Como , at the same time as the 2021 Concorso d’Elanganza Villa d’Este.

Peter Neumark Said: “ We are all living through challenging times, no more so than the Charities we have supported for the last few years. We want to help them as much as we can so we are hoping that as many people as possible will sign up to the photo call and bid at the auction.”
