The leftovers from the Lindner Nöcker operation left us with the authentic aluminium body tub with its Lynx-built Lindner add-ons so we decided to utilise it to produce a Lightweight-specification car. Andrew, our Special Projects Manager, took over the building of 4 GXO, which began with the repair of the original factory aluminium tub duly. An aluminium hardtop to the correct pattern was then made by RS Panels, along with a new instrument panel, and many parts were acquired from a 1963 open two-seater.
4 GXO carries the genuine Lightweight body shell that was originally used in the earlier restoration of the Lindner Nöcker E-type and its engine is an authentic Lightweight-spec wide-angle-head XK, complete with Lucas fuel injection.
This was truly an amazing project and is a brilliant demonstration of the highly skilled team in our body shop.
