This is the rarest of all the XJ Coupe range with only some 408 manufactured. Only a handful remain, making it the most desirable model.
The car was restored to better than new condition with the sole objective of winning concours competitions. It was shown at various events culminating in champion of champions October 1993 where it was awarded first place, the car then went on to win other major awards throughout 1994.
The restoration covered every aspect of the car, from the body and structure through to the engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, electrics, interior and chrome. Winning a concours event is very difficult, the level of detail and finish required has to be second to none
On completion of its concours career, the owner took the car off the road and it remained in dry storage until we were fortunate to acquire it recently.
We have been through the car and carried out a mechanical recommissioning programme in order to bring it back to show-winning condition.
Every aspect of this motor car is excellent, the underside and wheel arches are as clean and detailed as the upper surfaces. Details in and around the engine compartment would suggest that the restoration had been completed in 2014 and not in 1993.
The current condition is certainly better than the day it left Browns Lane and it is probably the best example available.
The XJ Coupe models are fast appreciating classic Jaguars and this particular model, being one of only 408, has to be the one to own.
