1972 Jaguar V12 2+2
Date Of Registration: 1972

CMC are pleased to offer this Jaguar E-Type Two-plus-two left-hand-drive V12 coupe. Manufactured on the 22nd December 1972, this car was finished in White with French Blue interior trim and still holds this configuration today.

Imported form the United States in 2017 by its current owner who has carried out a significant amount of work both with other specialist and CMC, JHK 551L is now well sorted and ready to be enjoyed.

In 1966 Jaguar surfaced their 2+2 E-Types, a version of the car that had first turned heads back in 1961. Due to a growing request from across the pond, the idea was to design and create a car that had all the beauty of the Coupe E-Type but with more practical room for 2 extra passengers and more luggage space.  Nine inches was added to the wheelbase, plus a roofline 2 inches higher meant they just about managed to fit two extra seats in the back, albeit for room to fit two small children. This concept was then continued with later series cars culmination in the 2+2 Series 3 V12 cars.

Accompanying this car are significant invoices covering the work carried out since the cars' return to the UK as well as a JDHT Certificate and some nice original period documentation. The car's engine number also matches that recorded on the heritage certificate and overall the car is in nice original condition, and although we cannot verify it as genuine, less than thirty-six-thousand miles are recorded on the odometer.

In addition she has just undergone a full CMC inspection as well as a 12,000 mile service and remedial work to brakes, suspension, steering and fuels systems in order to prepare her for sale and bring the car to an excellent overall level of mechanical condition. Cosmetically her interior trim is in very good order and overall she presents very well indeed.

Benefiting from air-conditioning as she does, this car would make an excellent continental grand tourer for next year’s run to the South of France.
