1962 Jaguar Semi Lightweight E-Type FIA Certified
Chassis No. 860917 came off the shop floor on the 10th of October 1962 and was originally distributed to P J Evans, Birmingham. A fixed-head coupé, right-hand drive car in Series 1 3.8 litre configuration. Raced in period at events such as Brands Hatch in the Guards Trophy. Fully FIA certified, this car is a great way for entry into races such as Spa Summer Classic, Jaguar Classic Challenge, and hill climb events to list a few.
3.8 engine totally rebuilt by Scholar Engineering producing 330bhp. Bored, Balanced crank, Carillo rods, lightened flywheel, JE pistons, baffled sump, high flow oil pump, new cam chains, and guides, fully gas flowed cylinder head from a Sigma Engineering design complete with new valves, guides and piper cams, new water pump and distributor are just a few upgrades the car has had. The gearbox and rear axle have also been rebuilt to race specification including a 8” clutch. Original steel monocoque as are the rear wings and front frames. Bonnet, doors, boot lid and hard top all new and have been manufactured by Rod Jay at Racing Jaguar. Custom FIA approved roll cage as well as FIA spec stainless exhaust system.
