This 3.8 litre right hand drive MK2 Saloon manufactured by Jaguar in 1960 and restored by Vicarage Motor Cars in 1988 is in excellent condition throughout. Since restoration the car has only covered some 19,000 miles and has been maintained to a very high standard. It is a classic Jaguar that can be driven anywhere at anytime.

The 3.8 litre engine performs very well and pulls smoothly in all gears, accelerating from 1000rpm in top gear with ease.

Fitted with a five speed manual transmission and modern diaphragm clutch makes enthusiastic driving a great pleasure and the lighter clutch pedal comes into its own when you get into that stop-start town driving. Having four wheel disc brakes gives assured confident braking with improved handling and power assisted rack and pinion steering. This MK2 Saloon could be used as an every day car.

As with all Vicarage cars this MK2 was restored from a bare shell, where all corrosion was removed before new panels were fitted. The body shell was then painted in modern two pack paint process, while the underside was protected using stone chip and all cavities injected with a wax to stop internal corrosion. Today some 23 years after restoration the body remains in excellent condition.

The light beige/tan leather interior is excellent, save a few wear marks to the heel pads on the floor carpets. The Vanden Plas reclining front seats provide excellent comfort and lateral support with adjustable head restraints for safety, inertia reel seat belts are fitted to the front and rear seats. Luxury refinements such as air conditioning, electric tilt and slide sunroof, improved windscreen wipers with interval delay add to the modern feel and usability.
