Have you seen this E-Type?

Our good friend Richard Peacock sadly had his much treasured 1965 E-Type 4.2 Series 1 FHC (reg ELO 775C) stolen on Sunday 30th April from the car park at Donington, during the Historic Festival. Richard has owned this E-Type for 16 years. Please help spread the word. The more people that knows about Richard's E-Type, the better. There are some identifying features including:

  • Webasco sunroof
  • Moto-lita steering wheel
  • Pipercross air filter
  • Kenlow fan
  • Stainless exhaust and manifold
  • The tailpipes have small extensions angled towards the ground (rather than protruding horizontally)
  • There is a factory fitted heated rear window which is relatively unusual for a 1965 car
  • The radio aerial is roof mounted in the centre at the top of the windscreen
  • Chrome GB badge on rear door above Jaguar E-Type 4.2

If you own an E-Type or, in fact, any other classic, do take every precaution necessary, especially when attending large events where professional thieves operate knowing that there are potential easy pickings.
You can take some simple precautions such as cutting off the battery, using steering wheel locks, or fit a quick release steering wheel unit... difficult to steal a car with no steering wheel!
